Privacy Policy

Silverson Therapies is a holistic therapy business and is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal data. This policy has been developed in line with General Data Protection Regulation Act 2018 (GDPR) and describes how we collect, store and use personal data about you whilst you are a client and after when you are no longer receiving treatments from Silverson Therapies. The policy also explains what the data is used for and how long it is stored for.

When is information collected?

For treatment enquiries and clients:

● If you contact me via text, phone or email, I will keep a record of this information, should you wish to proceed with a treatment. I will also check with you that I can hold onto this data. If I do not hear from you within 30 days of the initial contact then I will erase this information. You will be informed of this at the initial correspondence / contact.

● Certain information will be collected at our initial appointment when you will be required to complete a health and lifestyle consultation form.

● At the first consultation, a privacy policy will be available for you to read and sign in accordance with GDPR guidelines.

● At every consultation, verbal information will be gathered and recorded on your client record sheets

What information is collected?

In order to carry out a professional service, I will need to ask for and keep information about your health. This information is collected with your consent. The personal data that I routinely collect includes:

Name, Date of birth, address, phone number, email address, medical history, lifestyle, treatment details and related notes. You may refuse to share this information with me but it may affect my ability to deliver a professional treatment. If I am not able to collect all the relevant information required to work safely with you, then I retain the right to refuse treatment.

Use of Information

The reason for holding this personal data is for the following reasons:

● To obtain feedback about my products and services

● To make follow up enquiries usually by text, email or phone to clients who have received a treatment as part of my aftercare policy

● To communicate by email or phone regarding an enquiry made by my website

● To send you promotional emails, information on new treatments packages, special offers and any other information about health and wellbeing that I think would be of interest to you.

Disclosure of information

● Silverson Therapies will never sell or share your personal data with any other companies.

● Silverson Therapies will only share your information if required to do so by law or for police investigations.

Storing of information

● As a full member of The Federation of Holistic Therapists, Silverson Therapies abides by their Code of Conduct and Professional Practice.Silverson Therapies is fully insured through Hiscox who stipulate that client records should be kept for a minimum of 10 years after your last treatment.

● Consultation forms and treatment notes are stored securely in a locked filing cabinet.

Any clients notes stored electronically are stored in the cloud which is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulations. Access to this data is password protected.

Disposal of data

● Once a year, Silverson Therapies will review all client records and destroy any records that are no longer bound by the legal timescale for the records to be held

● Old client records will be disposed of securely maintaining client’s confidentiality at all times.

Your Rights

GDPR gives you the following rights:

● The right to be informed to know how your information will be held

● Right to access: To see your therapist’s records of your personal information, so you know what is held about you and can verify it.

● Right to rectification: To tell your therapist to make changes to your personal information if it is incorrect or incomplete.

● The right to be forgotten. Any information will be removed within one month of the request being submitted to Silverson Therapies

● The right to portability. Under certain circumstances a copy of electronically held information can be requested so it can be reused in other systems

● The right of objection: gives individuals the right to object to the processing of their personal data in certain circumstances.

● The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office. An individual can complain to the ICO if the individual feels the information held is incorrect or not being used in the permission was granted or if information is being held unnecessarily.Full details of individual’s rights can be held at:

Changes to the policy

Any changes to this privacy policy will be posted up on Silverson Therapies website.

Tropic Skincare

Silverson Therapies is an Ambassador for Tropic Skincare and on the website there is a link to my Ambassador shop on its website. Tropic processes orders taken via this shop and dispatches them to customers. As an Ambassador Silverson Therapies receives information about the order placed including the items purchased, the value of the order and the customer contact details. This information is stored securely after it is received and is not used by Silverson Therapies for any marketing purposes. Please read Tropic’s own Privacy policy before making your order.
