About Me

My journey to becoming an Holistic Therapist began when I became pregnant with my elder daughter Lara who was was born in July 1999. Throughout my pregnancy, I struggled with losing my figure and my feet and ankles. I was extremely anxious and worried about the labour. The only way to relax during pregnancy was to swim, but I didn’t really enjoy it. There was definitely something missing in my ante-natal care and I didn’t feel nurtured.

Five years later, Lara started school and with more time on my hands, I decided to re-train. I was drawn towards Aromatherapy and Reflexology and so enrolled on a Holistic Therapies course at Northbrook College, Worthing.

Two years later, in June 2006, Silverson Therapies was born and I emerged into the world fully qualified to practice Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Swedish Body Massage, Hopi Ear Candles and Reiki.

I knew before leaving college which path I was going to take and had the opportunity that same month to take a Maternity Reflexology course with Suzanne Enzer, an Australian midwife and Reflexologist. The course was life changing; Reflexology could support women in pregnancy and beyond and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on as many pregnant feet as possible.

Since then I haven't looked back and I have gone on to do more training in the field of Maternity Reflexology. I have been fortunate to have treated hundreds of pregnant women helping them to feel relaxed and supported during their pregnancies on an emotional, physical and psychological level.

In 2010 I found myself pregnant again. During my pregnancy and labour with Eva, I used Aromatherapy which was to be invaluable. The essential oils and their wonderful therapeutic properties helped with swelling, stretch marks, insomnia, anxiety and with controlling and deepening the breath in labour. The midwife actually remarked on how calm and relaxed the atmosphere was in the labour suite.

Following on from my own positive pregnancy and labour experience using essential oils, I decided to add Aromatherapy for Pregnancy to my treatment menu and so in March 2013 trained in London with Jo Kellett of From the Seed.

More recently, during the COVID 19 pandemic, self care and wellbeing was all over social media and it became more important than ever to be nuturing ourselves.

I discovered Gua Sha and the many benefits that it brings not only to our skin but our wellbeing. I knew instantly that I had to train in this modality.

After watching endless tutorials, signing up to a few on-line courses and doing a local training course in Gua Sha Facial Massage, I was totally hooked.

I have most recently taken a course with one of the top facial trainers in the USA, Cecily Braden and I can honestly say learning Gua Sha Facial Fusion with Thai Herbal Poultice has totally changed my life and radically changed my treatments.

I absolutely love my what I do and I consider it to be an absolute honour to be able to work with women who are on their wonderful and exciting journeys into motherhood. Also, I am committed to my therapies as I adore inducing a deep state of relaxation, calming and balancing the skin body and mind which allows your inner glow to radiate from within.
